Universal E-Commerce Skincare

Amazing products sometimes have trouble displaying themselves in a trustworthy way online when they're first starting out. With Softly Skincare, I wanted to create a brand identity and website design that not only felt universally accessible to different groups of customers, but also used visual gestalt techniques regarding spacing, typography, and color theory to subconsciouly communicate to users that this is a trustworthy brand.

Defining the Problem

Problem:
New brands that are online only face seeming untrustworthy through poor design as well as lacking social proof, transparency, and subconscious design cohesiveness that leads users to trust more established brands.
Solution:
Designing a website and brand identity around using a cohesive design system that standardized spacing, typography, as well as color tokens to make the user feel like it passes the threshold of trustworthiness through not subverting e-commerce expectations.
About Us Section

A clear and meaningful about us or about the founder section is a clear signal to potential customers that not only is there a real person on the other side of this company, but they stand by their product. The subconscious messaging of including a personal story as well as a portrait tells the user that the company wants to be transparent with who's behind it, leading to more trustworthiness.

Product Renders

Collaborating with 3D artists to create beautiful product renderings that look like they might as well be real. We created stunning and unique looking backdrops that make the products not only shine but allow them to stand out on the simple and effective website design.

Stock Image Sourcing

Cohesive stock photography images enhance the feeling of trustworthiness, and ensures that sections feel cohesive and not piecemeal/generic. Using blurred background stickers on the top we highlight not only the product categories, but also have descriptions as well as CTA buttons that stand out compared to the stickers on the top.

Staff Picks

This section is located at the bottom of the page for people who have made it all the way down the page, and it builds trust with potential customers by showing off highlighted products that they can buy right there in a way that shows that real people love them. This shows off that there are more people on the team that stand behind these products and are willing to tell you why.
